Novak Djokovic eyes playing 'more tournaments' next year, reveals his 2025 plans ahead of Brisbane International Tournament

In a relieving piece of news for his fans and ardent tennis lovers across the world, the modern-day tennis legend Novak Djokovic has revealed his plans for the future. A lot of experts and critics have thought that the 37-year-old is around the dusk of his illustrious journey in international tennis.

The Serbian great completed one of the biggest achievements of his tennis career earlier this year when he won the much-awaited Olympic Gold in the Paris Olympics 2024. Apart from that, Djokovic has also won 24 grand slams in his 21-year-long glorious career so far.

“I'm looking for more consistency” – Novak Djokovic on his plans

Speaking to the journalists ahead of his appearance in the Brisbane International Tournament, Djokovic assured that ‘he is not going anywhere and can go strong’ for years to come. 

“I'm looking for a good start to the season. I'm looking for more consistency across all the tournaments. I'm looking to play more tournaments this year than I played last season, so hopefully also my level is going to go up,” said Djokovic.

“Hopefully, I will win a few more tournaments and my ranking will go up to where it should be. The way I'm feeling today, I still think that I can go strong for years to come . . . I still love this sport and I still love competing," he added later.

Djokovic will join the Aussie star Nick Kyrgios in the round of 32 clash in the Brisbane International Tournament against the duo of A Erler and A Mies. The game will be played at the Pat Rafter Arena in Brisbane. Djokovic will be eyeing a winning start to his campaign in Brisbane before entering into the new year with his above-mentioned plans.

The Right-handed, two-handed backhand is currently ranked number 7 in the singles rankings and he will be aiming to improve his numbers with some stunning performances in the upcoming year of professional tennis.
