The US Open is just 10 days away and we all are hyped up for the big Grand Slam tournament which will be one of the biggest tournaments to look forward to with over millions of dollars it has on it. The player we all are looking forward to seeing is former World number one and defending champion Novak Djokovic who will be one of the favorites going into the Grand Slam event as well.
Novak Djokovic was not really having the best of seasons until the Paris Olympics where he created history and finally won the Gold medal which has been eluding him for years. The Serbian legend is now among the few legendary players to get a career Gold Slam and has been on top ever since. He will now be hoping that he defends his US Open title this season and finally get his hands on his 25th Grand Slam.
The risk of withdrawing from Cincinnati and Canadian open
There is no doubt Djokernole will be one of the favorites to win the Grand Slam event, but his decision of wiathdrawing from both the Canadian and Cincinnati Open is something that has been risky for him in the past. The last Djokovic did this was back in 2021 where he had already won 3 Grand Slams and was on to break Rod Lavers record of winning all four Frand Slams in the season, there was no doubt that was also the year Djokovic could not medal in the Olympics, but in a shock of events he also chose to withdraw from the Canadian and Cincinnati Open that year as well. Though Djokovic did go onto make the US Open finals he missed out on the record after losing to Daniil Medvedev in straight sets.
This was one of the most disappointing finals Djokovic has played and with him doing the same thing this season might prove costly as well. Though we also have to remember that unlike the last time Djokopvic is currently on a high after winning an Olympic Gold. However the question his will history repeat itself or will the Serbian powerhouse prevail which has done in his entire career.
