John McEnroe and Novak Djokovic team up to take on Andre Agassi and Carlos Alcaraz in US Open 2024 exhibition match

As part of the US Open Fan Week event, an exhibition match will be played on Wednesday, August 21.

Tennis fans around the world are gearing up to witness a clash between generations. As part of the US Open Fan Week event, an exhibition match will be played on Wednesday, August 21. Novak Djokovic will join John McEnroe for a doubles match against the pair of Carlos Alcaraz and Andre Agassi.

The Fan Week event will be held from August 19 to 25, with the tournament starting on the 26th and ending on September 8. This is the last Grand Slam event of the year.  

Titled 'The Stars of the Open', the event features a blockbuster line-up of tennis superstars from different generations. Along with McEnroe and Agassi, Juan Martin Del Potro, Gabriela Sabatini and Andy Roddick will represent the past generation. Meanwhile, Venus Williams, Caroline Wozniacki, Jessica Pegula and Frances Tiafoe will join Djokovic and Alcaraz to represent the current stars.

Agassi, an American former world No. 1, took to his social media handle to announce the epic encounter. The eight-time Grand Slam champion will be teaming up with four-time champion Alcaraz to take on seven-time and 24-time winners McEnroe and Djokovic, respectively. 43 Grand Slams on one court, excitement at its peak.

Alcaraz set his sights on third Grand Slam of the year while Djokovic aims on world record

Carlos Alcaraz, who won the US Open in 2022 and his maiden Wimbledon last year, won the French Open and his second Wimbledon title earlier this year to claim his third and fourth Grand Slam titles. The young lad will be eyeing for his fifth Majors and third in the 2024 season.

Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic is on the verge of scripting history by becoming the first player on the planet to win 25 Grand Slam titles. Notably, the Serbian is coming on the back of a historic gold medal win at the Paris Olympics 2024.
