Tennis star Nick Kyrgios mocked the world number one, Jannik Sinner after he was trolled for his opening-round loss at the 2025 Brisbane International in Australia. The Canberra-born star faced Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, but the French star ended up winning the game by 7-6, 6-7, and 7-6. Notably, the Italian tested positive for the banned substance Clostebol during the Indian Wells back in 2024. However, after several investigations, the ITIA decided that Italian bore no significant fault and allowed him to play the game and to compete in the tournaments.
A plethora of tennis players and pundits, including fans, opposed the leniency shown in this verdict for the world number one, including Aussie star player Nick Kyrgios, who has been making bold headlines and facing sharp backlash from the tennis fraternity for trolling the Italian.
However, Nick Kyrgios's expressive manner of showcasing his despair has sparked controversy among tennis fans. Following the same, Nick has targeted Sinner's girlfriend, Anna Kalinskaya, and also called him the Grinch. However, one of the Jannik Sinner fans took to social media to criticize the 29-year-old after he was seen struggling with his wrist during the game in Brisbane International 2025.
"Oh bro I spent too much time in the last few months holding my phone interacting with Pavvy G and calling Jannik Sinner a second serve, doper and the grinch," a fan wrote on X.

"So for me when people are saying that I'm disrespectful to the sport, I think someone like that that has tried to cheat the process, and actually not done it completely on their own merit, is the disrespectful one in my opinion," Nick Kyrgios further said.
