The WTA scene has some sad news as 4-time Grand Slam winner Naomi Osaka is to miss the rest of the season due to injury. The 2024 season has not really been the best comeback season for the Japanese superstar as she faces another major setback in her career which will upset a lot of her friends as well.

The 2024 season had a lot of players trying to make a comeback this season. This was also the year we got to see Naomi Osaka who was suffering throughout the last season with a lot of injuries. Osaka is currently ranked 56 in the rankings and has not won a single title to her name. The last time she played was against Coco Gauff in the China Open where she had to retire due to fitness concerns and forfeit the game.

Osaka's 2024 season comes to an end

There were some high expectations from Osaka this season who was looking to make a comeback after a long break due to injury. There were some promising and decent performances by the player previously. Unfortunately, it seems like we will not go on to see that this year as it turns out that the injury to her abdominal muscles has not completely recovered and she will be missing the rest of the season. This is really sad news for a player who has been giving us some great performances in her career.

The saddest thing is that Osaka has had an underwhelming season as well where she had a record of 22 wins and 17 losses and a prize money of just over $850,000. We hope she can come back next season and give us some brilliant performances and win more major titles that can get her back on top of the rankings. The fans will be waiting for Osaka to finally become the World number 1 once again.
