There used to be a time when Naomi Osaka was one of the most dominant players in the game of tennis. However, this season has been full of disappointment for her since she has not only failed to win a title but has not been a top contender in the rankings. The 4-time Grand Slam winner was now set to make a return to Beijing to play the China Open and is hoping to change her luck.

Naomi Osaka was up against Italy's Lucia Bronzetti and this was her first tournament after facing disappointment in the US Open and was a chance for her to finally get her game back on track. Fortunately, she had a great start to the season as she beat Bronzetti in straight sets with scores of 6-2 and 6-3. This was a great start to the tournament for the four-time Grand Slam winner who has still kept her chances of a comeback in this tournament alive.

Osaka wins first game in Beijing after 5 years

This victory will mean a lot to Osaka as well since the last time she won a match in Beijing was 5-years ago and after that, most of the tournaments were canceled due to the pandemic. Osaka was really looking good in this match and we all would like to see her continue performing with the same consistency and slowly get back to the top of the rankings and get her career back on track. It was the 2019 season where she won the tournament for the first time in China which will make her happy that she has kept her chances alive for a second one as well.

Osaka was also asked in the post-match interview how she felt about winning after 5 years saying, "It feels really good. I’m glad I’m able to play on this court once again. I hope I’m able to lift a trophy again sometime soon.” It is safe to say that Osaka will want to continue winning games in the tournament.
