Lorenzo Musetti becomes third Italian to reach Olympic semi finals in Tennis

There are a lot of great matches which we have seen in the Paris Olympics 2024 this season with some great performances from some legends and some iconic upsets in the matches. This has really been a tennis tournament full of drama that we never expected to see some major losses from some big players as well. It is safe to say that this has been a tournament full of surprises and we all are enjoying it as fans of Tennis from all over the World.

The biggest upset of the tournament today was in the game between World number 4 Alexander Zverev and Lorenzo Musetti. There is no doubt Zverev was the favorite in this encounter, but it was Musetti who went on to surprise the German World number one. There were two long drawn sets in this game and it was the Italian who got the victory with scores of 7-5 in each of them and made it to the semi finals of Paris Olympics 2024. This was another great performance from the young Italian.

Lorenzo Musetti eneters the record books

This win from Lorenzo Musetti has created history as he became only the third Italian to qualify for the semi finals of the Olympics this season. The last player to achieve this was Paolo Cane back in 1984 who did it after Uberto De Mopurgo back in 1924. This has put him in th history books among some great Italian players in the past. This win against one of the top players in the game from his nation and he will want to continue this great form going forward as well.

Musetti will now go onto feature in the semi finals where he will either play the great Novak Djokovic or Greek God Stefanos Tsitsipas. Overall he has been having a great season where he has made it to the semi finals of Wimbledon 2024 and now will once again play the semi finals in one of the biggest sporting events in the world. We hope to see some more great performances from him in the next two matches and hopefully win a medal for his nation.
