Former British tennis star Tim Henman has issued a warning to Carlos Alcaraz and other US Open 2024 favourites by making a big claim on legend Novak Djokovic. The Serbian has now nothing left in the game to achieve after his recent success at the Paris Olympics. He claimed the only title he missed from his illustrious career in perhaps his last attempt.

Many would have thought that his hunger for wins and trophies might have ended. However, the 37-year-old indicated during his gold medal celebration that he is willing to compete in the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

Djokovic's career hasn't been plagued by frequent injuries compared to his rivals, and given his fighting spirit, it wouldn't be surprising to see him dominate men's tennis for years to come.

“I just don’t think the way he works means he will think he has won the gold medal and that’s it. He still has an enormous passion for the game. He loves what he does and if anything, it might go the other way,” Henman told Tennis365.

I definitely think he has more major titles in him: Henman hails Djokovic

Henman's warning comes ahead of the 2024 US Open, which starts on August 26. Notably, Djokovic will be eyeing a world record entering the hard-court tournament. Currently tied with Margaret Court with 24 Grand Slams, the reigning US Open champion is one major title away from securing the record for most Grand Slam titles by a player.

“Winning the Olympics might free him up. He might think he has ticked all the boxes and I am playing with the house’s money now. He might go out and feel no pressure as he looks to win another major at the US Open,” the 49-year-old said.

“That might be dangerous for the rest because he will play with freedom and while he is fit and healthy, I definitely think he has more major titles in him,” he added.
