There have been plenty of Women tennis players who have impressed us and have found some form this season and seem to be back to their best in this Roland Garros. One of the players who has impressed us with her performances is Elina Svitolina who before this season has been struggling to find her form.

This season, however, has been different for the former world number 2 as she qualified for the fourth round with a chance of making it to the playoffs. Though she eventually lost the match to Elena Rybakina who beat her in two straight sets, it has still been a great tournament for the Ukraniar and we still wish to see her perform in the upcoming tournaments as well. Seeing her in this tournament there is still a chance for her to make it back into the top ranks.

Elina talks about the war

Being a Ukrainian and how the situation in her country is because of the war, It is no surprise that the number 1 Ukrainian player was asked about the situation in the war after her Roland Garros game. To this, Svitolina gave a heartfelt remark saying " Of course, it’s very sad because I know that so many of my friends and people I know that are right now in the frontline and losing their lives in this horrible war. So, of course, it’s very sad for me, a very sad topic as well because, you know, people and media are not talking about it anymore."

By this statement, it is clear that Svitolina is still feeling a lot of pain being from the country that is right now going through turmoil. We hope that she is strong enough to fight through these painful experiences and get back to focusing on her game and the upcoming tournaments as well. This is a really sad moment for every Ukrainian and we all will be wishing that the situation gets better in the future and everyone in the country can go back to living a healthy life.
