Former Australian tennis player Rennae Stubbs has recently criticised world number one and three-time Grand Slam winner Aryna Sabalenka over the way the star player tends to make fun of and blame her team after losing the finals or any big matches. The former tennis star was seen criticising the Belarusian star.
Stubbs revealed that she does not like the way Sabalenka makes fun of her team and blames them after losing the big matches. The 54-year-old legend feels that Sabalenka's jokes seem hurtful and not funny anymore. The legendary player makes the bold claim after Sabalenka's runner-up finish following her loss to eventual champion Jelena Ostapenko in the Stuttgart Open 2025 final.
The 54-year-old tennis player feels that Sabalenka should thank her team, and if not, she should stop saying any words about them. Meanwhile, Stubbs's statements seem not to sit well with the fans, as many lashed out at her on social media for pointing out the current world number one's hilarious way as a disrespectful one.
"I'm really tired of the way she talks about her team with sarcasm after defeats. I can't take it anymore. Every time she loses, she's like, "Hey, guys! Great job today!" and it's not funny anymore. It's passive-aggressive and already a little annoying," Stubbs said.
Sabalenka's cheeky remarks on her team after losing the Australian Open 2025 finals!
Notably, Aryna Sabalenka took a cheeky dig at her team after losing the Australian Open 2025 finals. Sabalenka won the 2023 and 2024 Australian Open but failed to mark a historic three-peat. After losing, she was hilariously seen taking a jibe at her team while confronting them with love in the last.
"Should I say anything to my team? Why are you laughing? As always, that's your fault, guys. No. I, I don't want to see you for the next week. I really hate you. I couldn't do anything in this match. And next time I play against Madison, I'll bring better tennis. And of course, sending a lot to my team. Anyway, I love you, even though we lost," Sabalenka said.
