Tennis star Jelena Ostapenko is the Stuttgart Open 2025 champion. The Latvian tennis star defeated world number Aryna Sabalenka with a scoreline of 6-4, 6-1 in the final clash. The star player had a stellar tournament as she not only defeated Sabalenka here but also toppled title favourite Iga Swiatek in the quarterfinal clash.

The two-star player had a strong start to the game, but Ostapenko executed stunning drop shots and extended rallies with the Belarusian star to take the lead. She kept her dominant form heading to the next set and gained an advantage over Sabalenka's unforced error to defeat her in the final game to win the title.

After the loss, Aryna Sabalenka steals the post-match celebration with her antics, bringing laughter to the court. The world number one congratulated Ostapenko for the Porsche car that she got after the win. However, she further added that she is glad that she can afford this car, and this is the only option left for her after not winning the title. This statement gets huge cheers and laughter from the Stuttgart crowd.

“I want to congratulate Jelena & her team. Enjoy driving this beautiful car. I’m glad I can afford this car. After this final, I’m gonna order one because this is the only way for me," Aryna Sabalenka said after losing to Ostapenko.

Notably, Aryna Sabalenka has lost her fourth Stuttgart Open final. She made it to the finals of 2021 but suffered a defeat against Ashleigh Barty. Thereafter, five-time Grand Slam winner Iga Swiatek defeated her in the 2022 and 2023 finals. This time, Ostapenka shattered her dream run to grab the Porsche car.

Sabalenka will next be seen in action in the Mutua Madrid Open 2025, which marks the first WTA 1000 tournament of this season. The 26-year-old star player has won the Brisbane Open and Miami Open titles but ended up as a finalist in the Australian Open and Indian Wells before the Stuttgart Open.
