The Italian Open has now come down to its final leg and this has been a tournament which has given us a lot of dramatic wins and losses. It is now time we get to see who will take the title in Rome after a tournament filled with some great battles and some shocking results. The fans will be looking forward to the final which has given us some great matches in a tournament, which is the last ATP Masters 1000 contest before the Roland Garros.

The final is going to be played between world number 5 Alexander Zverev and Chilean number 1 player Nicolas Jarry. This is a matchup we never expected with only one Top 5 ATP-ranked player making it to the final. Zverev has had one of the best tournaments so far where he has only lost one set in the whole tournament. Whereas Jarry has been one of the surprising dark horses who has beaten some top contenders in the tournament. This might not be the most famous rivalry but it is certainly going to be an underrated one.

Former Rome Champion vs First-time finalist

This might not be one of the most iconic rivalries in the world, but it is one to look out for seeing the form of both the players. Zverev is now playing his 11th ATP Masters 1000 final and will be looking for his 6th ATP 1000 trophy as well. He will also be looking for his 2nd title in Rome playing in 3rd final at the venue. On the other hand, Nicolas Jarry will be the underdog in this finale as he will be playing his 1st ever ATP 1000 final. The head-to-head battle between them also belongs to the German who has won 4 out of the 6 encounters between the two. The last time Zverev faced Jarry was in an intense quarter-final game in Beijing.

Though it looks like Zverev is the one looking good to win this encounter and finally win his first ATP title this season, we all have to remember that Jarry is not an easy opponent to deal with. Jarry has also beaten Zverev in the last encounter in the Clay season last year in Geneva. Though this head-to-head will mostly be in favour of Zverev, he will also go in knowing that he will be up against another top competitor in the Italian Open finale.
