The 2024 year is not finished yet, and the 2025 tennis year has already commenced with the likes of the 2025 United Cup and Brisbane International taking place in Australia. Paradoxical as it may seem, that's how the tennis fraternity looks and works. A plethora of tennis rackets have appeared in the opening thriller of the United Cup 2025, taking place at RAC Arena in Perth. The most outstanding performance came from world number six Elena Rybakina, who guided her side, Kazakhstan, to victory over Spain on Day 1, grabbing two wins, one against Jessica Bouzas in the singles and then teaming up with Alexander Shevchenko in the mixed doubles.

I'm focusing on the Grand Slams and trying to get some big titles: Elena Rybakina

The physical aspect is undoubtedly the major concern for her fans. The star player's extended absences from the circuits and back-to-back injuries have created the main cloud of uncertainty around her potential, becoming the primary focus she aims to address in the forthcoming year.

“Well, definitely to play the full season because last season I was not playing China. I had to skip. I had some health issues. I think that's the most important for me to stay healthy, to play from beginning until the end. Yeah, of course, I'm focusing on the Grand Slams and trying to get some big titles. So you need to be ready for some tough matches; fight until the end. I think everything is possible. It's just not always everything depends on you, but I think with the preparation we did, I have some chances," Elena Rybakina said.
