Iga Swiatek and Jasmine Paolini will face each other in the Cincinnati Open 2025 final. The Wimbledon 2025 champion overcame Elena Rybakina 7-5, 6-3 in the Semifinal. Likewise, Paolini claimed a hard-fought win of 6-3, 6-7(2), 6-3 against Veronika Kudermetova. They will face each other in the final on August 18.
Swiatek has been on a purple patch since Wimbledon. The Polish has yet to lose a game in the last two months and seems to be the favorite to win the Cincinnati Open 2025 as the perfect way to head to the US Open 2025. Against the 9th-seeded Rybakina, she did not have any challenge whatsoever to storm into the final.

In the first set, the 3rd seed faced a bit of a challenge from the Kazakhstan star. Neither player could break each other's serves till the last game of the set, where Switek did and clinched the lead. It shifted the momentum towards her favor, as there was no looking back. She won the second set pretty comfortably to enter the final.
Can Jasmine Paolini upset Iga Swiatek in the Cincinnati Open 2025 final?
On the other hand, Paolini had a hard game against Veronika Kudermetova. The Italian won the first set relatively easily with a scoreline of 6-3. However, the second set proved to be a challenging one for the 7th-seeded, as neither could break each other's serve, which meant the match went to the tiebreaker. The Russian saved the match by winning the tiebreaker.

The last set between the two turned out to be a decider. Paolini brought her A game and was dominant against the Russian. She won it 6-3 to register a spot in the final. Her challenge will be against Swiatek, which will be hard. However, she has what it takes to beat Swiatek in a big match.
