Former WTA tennis No. 1 Iga Swiatek was caught in a doping case in August and accepted a 1-month ban. ATP No. 1 Jannik Sinner also failed his doping test for using a banned substance. He gave a clear explanation before the independent tribunal, and they cleared him of any wrongdoing.

He still has to worry because the World Anti-Doping Agency has lodged another appeal with the sport's highest court, and he could still face a ban of up to two years. Talking about the doping issue, Sinner said, “The most important thing is the people who are around me, who know me as a human being, trust me.”

Unlike Sinner, Swiatek got a 1-month ban as punishment, and she is serving it. The tennis players work very hard, so they take some sleep medications to counter their body pain. WTA Player Simona Helep was banned for 4 years for using doping substances, and she proved her innocence, reduced to 9 months.

Aryna says, 'Dont overreact'

Swiatek said, “Both me and my team had to deal with tremendous stress and anxiety. Now everything has been carefully explained, and with a clean slate I can go back to what I love most.” Tennis No. 1 Aryna Sabelenka for the first time, reacted to the issue and declined to comment anything regarding the issue. She said, “People often overreact without understanding the situation, so I don't want to speak out in any way. I believe in clean sports and I have nothing more to add.”

Aryna became the new number 1 in WTA tennis after Iga missed her last few tournaments due to a ban. The Belarusian Tetennislayer is currently playing World Tennis League and this year she achieved tremendous success and touched many milestones. She won the Australian Open and the US Open Grand Slams, the Wuhan Open title, and the WTA 1000. She was named the WTA player of the year. She will start her campaign at the 2025 Australian Open in January.
