Coco Gauff, Iga Swiatek dominate Forbes's list of highest-paid women athletes in 2024

Tennis star player Coco Gauff has landed at the top spot on the Forbes list of the highest-paid female athletes for 2024, leaving behind Iga Swiatek. In the recent American Business magazine, the American star player earned $34.4 million this year. According to sources, the 20-year-old Gauff has earned $9.4 million from tennis tournaments, while most of her money came from sponsorships and endorsement deals in the game.

Meanwhile, Iga Swiatek, who was Forbes's highest-paid athlete back in 2023, earned $23.8 in 2024 and placed at the second spot on the list. While Iga's money remained the same as compared to the 2023 year, Gauff still easily overtook her in the earning category because of her 2023 USA Open win, which was the major cause of her endorsements and sponsorships. However, Iga mostly spent her time in court and wasn't much involved in other activities to maintain her top spot in the earning list.

Meanwhile, as impressive as these figures look. It's worth mentioning that the above money is nothing when it gets compared to the highest-paid male athletes. Forbes reported that football star Ronaldo is the highest-paid athlete in the world, earning a whopping $260 million in 2024. The second player on the list is Spanish golfer Jon Rahm, with a whopping sum of $218 million.
