The 24-time Grand Slam winner and Serbian Legend Novak Djokovic is set to play against the World number 1 Jannik Sinner in the Shanghai Masters final this season. The Paris Olympic Gold medalist discusses his upcoming bout saying that he is not the favorite in the contest but will still look to give the young Italian a battle to win his 100th ATP title and 5th title at Shanghai.

The Shanghai Masters' finals is set to take place between Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner and this is a battle between the master and the prodigy that we all are looking forward to. This might not be the best of seasons for Djokernole who is yet to win a single ATP title this season. Although he will be up against the best player in the World right now, there will still be a lot of people backing him in the upcoming match.

Djokovic on facing Sinner this season

The last time Djokovic went up against Jannik Sinner was in the Australian Open semi-finals where it was Sinner who got the better of him. This is a battle to look forward to and it turns out the Serbian legend is looking forward to it as well. He said, "We haven't played each other since the Australian Open. It'll take my best level to win. I hope I can do it. I won't be the favorite, but I hope I'm fresh enough to fight him. "

Though we can still hear the spirited nature of Djokovic through this statement, we never get to hear that he is not the favorite to win a final in the ATP season. It is safe to say that Djokovic considers Sinner as a tough competitor and even praised him as well. He stated, "He's the best player in the world right now. He's played incredible tennis in the last 12 months and he's been consistent."
