Rafael Nadal is on his way to his return to court in the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell as the excitement around tennis fans is on hype. Since 5th January Rafael Nadal has been out of action. In recent times he has been surrounded by injury as he has missed some major tournaments.

According to the ATP Tour Rafael Nadal who won his last Conde De Godo in 2021 stated, “I’m happy to be here.” “I have many very good memories of this tournament. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to be here in recent years. Luckily, I was able to come here as a last-minute decision. I think, all things considered, the week of training has been positive. Tomorrow I will be on court.”

Rafael Nadal will play his first match in the Barcelona Open against 21-year-old Flavio Cobolli. This will be his first match on a clay court since he last played on a clay court in the 2022 French Open final.

Meanwhile, Rafael Nadal has sustained a slight muscle strain in the area that had kept him off the courts in 2023, causing him to withdraw from the Australian Open and the ATP 250 in Doha, both of which he had expected to participate in at the beginning of the season. To be careful, he opted not to compete in the first three ATP Masters 1000s of the season: the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, the Miami Open presented by Itaú, and the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters.

Rafael Nadal set his sights on the Paris Olympics and the French Open

Rafael Nadal may have missed the Australian Open, but the Spaniard has set his sights on the Paris Olympics and the French Open, emphasising that he is selecting and choosing events to ensure he arrives at the two main tournaments of the year in excellent shape.

According to BBC Rafael Nadal stated, "I was not able to spend a lot of days on tour over the last two years, so I just want to enjoy every day I am able to play with the guys on a professional level. That means a lot to me."
