Tennis star Paula Badosa has recently talked about grave back injuries while making some honest admissions. The star player has withdrawn from the Mutua Madrid Open 2025 due to back injuries.
Notably, the 27-year-old star player had stellar form in 2022, when she was world number two. However, she felt injured for the first time in 2023. She continued with her struggles and fell out of the top 100 rankings in 2024. Even the doctors have told her that she won't be able to play on the courts again due to chronic back injuries.
Despite that, she worked hard on her body and staged her magnificent comeback in 2025. Badosa reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open in 2025 and re-entered the top 10 WTA rankings. However, her struggles were visible in the Miami Open 2025, where she pulled out in the fourth round of the prestigious event.

Thereafter, she didn't mark her comeback. Badoa pulls out from the Charleston Open before the Madrid Open. Despite all the success she has achieved in her life and storming again into the top 10, Paula Badosa revealed that she woke up with scared feelings in her mind, and sometimes she could not sleep and cope with the conditions due to injury, and these things are affecting her mentally. The Spanish star called it the hardest part of her life at this moment.
"Every day I wake up feeling scared. I'm not kidding, this week I had to text Pol Toledo at 5:00 a.m. because I couldn't sleep. I can't cope with the uncertainty of whether my back will be okay that day or whether I'll be able to live a normal life. Mentally, that's what's been the hardest for me. In Miami, I remember feeling really good in the first match. I'd been playing sets for a week without any problems, but after the sixth game, I got a pain and went crazy," Paula Badosa said.
