Rafael Nadal speaks on his chances of playing the US Open this season. Could El Nino feature in another major Grand Slam event this season and keep his chances alive.

There have been some huge legacies built in the game of tennis and when you speak of legacy the name of Rafael Nadal always comes to your mind, The Spaniard has won 22 major championships and has done a lot for the sport throughout his career. This has been one of the careers we all have been looking forward to for a long time in the game. Nadal is easily one of the best players to ever grace the field and we are happy to see him still play and perform even today.

This has not exactly been a season to remember for Rafael Nadal he has just reached his first quarter-finals this season where he will be playing Mariano Navone. The last Grand Slam final Nadal has featured in is the French Open this season where he went out in the first round. There are still talks going on that the Spaniard might feature in the upcoming US Open with his name on the entry list. This could probably be the last time for Nadal to achieve Grand Slam glory as he is nearing the end of his career.

Nadal on his chances of playing at New York

The US Open is only a possibility, but Nadal is still going to look forward to playing the Laver Cup and the Olympics. During a press conference, the King of Clay spoke on his chances of playing US Open in New York saying " I needed to book to have the chance to decide after that. I’m going to decide what’s going on after the Olympics. I will be playing in the Laver Cup, but I’m not at all sure at all to be in NY.” Through this, it is clear that there is still no final confirmation from Nadal that he will feature in the tournament.

There is nobody in the world who doesn't want to see Nadal perform in the US Open, but we have to remember that he is not exactly at his peak right now and he will also need some time to recover. Though we do not have a proper confirmation whether he will play or not, there is still some chance that he will be playing in New York. It has been great to see El Nino and we will surely enjoy seeing him play the amount of times we have seen him play.
