Tennis sensation Jelena Ostapenko showcased her beast form against world number two Iga Swiatek in the semi-finals of the Qatar Open 2025 in Doha. The 27-year-old player defeated the three-time defending champion with a commanding scoreline of 6-3, 6-1.

This magnificent win has marked Ostapenko's fifth straight win over the Polish star, maintaining her head-to-head record against the 23-year-old. The game lasted just over an hour, during which the Latvian player showcased her great style by hitting 31 winners as compared to Swiatek's eight.

Notably, the 27-year-old's win here not only ended Iga Swiatek's 15-match winning streak at the Qatar Open but also eliminated her hope to win the tournament for the fourth straight time. The Latvian player, currently ranked 37, took control in the game, breaking the Polish star five times and establishing a dominant lead in the second set of the game.

“Today I went on the court, and I was pretty confident that I would beat her. We played a lot of matches, and I know how to play against her, and I just was more focused on myself and knew what I had to do. I’m really happy with the way I’m handling my emotions this week. I’m just so happy to be in the finals. I feel like this court has a special energy and it was always helping me. As I said, everything started for me here on this court," Ostapenko said after the win
