The French Open or Roland Garros will be the tournament to look forward to and the main draw contest will be starting on the 26th of May. This will be another tournament which will feature some big stars in the game. There are many players who are favourites to win this Clay season finale and achieve Grand Slam glory. The amount of talented players in the setup makes this one of the biggest tournaments to look out for.

Though there are plenty of contenders for the trophy the two main focuses will be the defending champions who will be looking to keep their French Open crown. The two players in discussion right now are Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek. These two were the Roland Garros champions last year and will be looking to defend their titles. That is not all since they are also the number 1 ranked players in their categories as well. We will be looking forward to seeing these plays and how they approach this season.

The story of the draws of the defending champs

While discussing both the players let us first focus on the draw of the Serbian powerhouse Novak Djokovic who will be playing his first game against Pierre Hughes Herbert, a wildcard entry in this tournament. Djokovic has not had the best of seasons according to the standards he has created and does have a slightly tough draw filled with a lot of talented individuals such as Tommy Paul, Gael Monfils and Lorenzo Mussetti. However, we still believe that the 24-time Grand Slam champion will come out on top, though it will still be a slightly challenging draw once again.

On the other hand, Iga Swiatek has been in incredible form and will be looking to achieve a three-peat this season. Right now she is probably the best player on Clay we have ever seen and there is no doubt this could be another great title defense and even better than the last year. Swiatek might have got a slightly easy draw, but could still face some challenges from players like Naomi Osaka who will most likely be her first opponent and Alexandrova down the the line. Overall this might not be the easiest draw for the two, but they will still have a lot of advantages since most of the players have not been in the form of their lives, therefore there is still a high chance they might go far in this Grand Slam tournament.
