Roddick speaks on Djokovic's withdrawal
There might have been some fans who were disappointed with Djokovic's decision but we also have to remember that he is in the last few years of his career and there are some experts who have also given their opinion on this decision.
Former World number 1 and American legend Andy Roddick on his podcast also talked about the withdrawal on his podcast and what kind of opportunities it might create for the other players saying, "That makes sense. I mean Novak has said that in so many words, and we don’t want this to take the focus away from Tommy Paul, but Novak is going to pick and choose his spots now."
This statement makes everything clear Roddick has also said that Tommy Paul will have a chance through the Paris Masters to secure qualification but he also talked about Djokovic's possible plans for the future clearly stating, "He’s going to try to juggle the schedule, where he gets enough matches before majors, but really, my interpretation of how Novak is talking is that he doesn’t care about rankings anymore." These words from Roddick make sense since the Serbian had also made it clear that he will be concentrating on Grand Slams and international tournaments.
