Notably, Mother's Day has been celebrated on May 11, and on that day, the star player faced Danielle Collins in the fourth round of the WTA 1000 campaign. The Ukrainian star has defeated Collins with a scoreline of 6-4, 6-2 to book her berth in the quarter-finals. Notably, it wasn't easy for Svitolina to beat Collins, who was in great form in this tour and made bold headlines after crashing out to Iga Swiatek in the Round of 32 to face Svitolina in the pre-quarters.
After storming into the last eight rounds in the Rome Masters 1000 tournament, Elina Svitolina was seen talking about her husband, Gael Monfils, as he questioned why the star player was celebrating on May 11, as this event falls on May 25 in France.
Svitolina amusingly stated that she will only get the present when the French celebration is there. The tennis star further added that this Mother's Day is set to be celebrated every day, considering the hard work they do. The Ukrainian star revealed that Monfils went to his home after his injury to be present with their daughter, Skai.
"It was good. Well, it's in different countries on different days. So Gael told me, 'Why are you celebrating? In France, it's in two weeks so I'm going to give you a gift later. We should celebrate everyday. All the moms, we are doing such a hard work. But I'm on the holidays right now because Gael is at home with Skai so me, I'm a working mom," Elina Svitolina said in Rome.
