Tennis Channel analyst and former star Coco Vandeweghe has recently come forward and backed the decision by the WTA to investigate the former coach of Elena Rybakina, Stefano Vukov, who was suspended for an investigation on code of conduct violations earlier this week and suspended from traveling to the first Grand Slam of the year in Melbourne, leaving the fans extremely baffled. Notably, Elena's head coach, Vukov, had ironically returned to the side ahead of the 2025 Australian Open, slated to take place on January 12.
However, Coco was left baffled initially earlier this week when he was suddenly rehired, and that hasn't changed more in the direction of his backing the decision to investigate.
I think we all have in matches that Vukov is not the kindest to her: Vandeweghe

In the same vein, the Tennis Channel analyst and former American star came forward and said that the WTA is doing the right thing with their investigation to protect the world number six. The 33-year-old tennis star clearly mentioned that Elena's coach, Vukov, wasn't the kindest to her at all, especially on the tours, and always seems to be lashing out at her from the stands, despite Elena's rubbishing all such claims on her coach.

“I’m sorry, but where there’s smoke, there’s probably fire. Sometimes, other people need to protect you if you can’t protect yourself, and that’s what the tours are trying to do from what they have seen and learned about Vukov. As much as I want to trust Elena Rybakina’s opinion and choices, I’ve seen some other images and I think we all have in matches that Vukov is not the kindest to her,” Vandeweghe said on Tennis Channel Live.
