The Geneva Open was down to its last four players who were going after the trophy in the last tournament before the Roland Garros. This was one of the biggest draws you can ever get in an ATP 250 tournament which features some big players in the mix. There is no doubt there are a lot of fans who are witnessing this tournament in Switzerland with some great players in the setup.

The match had come which everyone had been waiting for as Novak Djokovic went up against Tomas Machac in the semi-finals of the tournament. Though we were all impressed with the performance of the 23-year-old Czech player in the tournament, there was no doubt that Djokovic was still the player who was a favourite to win this encounter being the world number 1 and highest-seeded player in the tournament.

Djokovic fails again

There were a lot of people who wanted Djokovic to win a title just before the Roland Garros, but unfortunately, we saw the Serbian fail once again in the semi-finals. The first set saw Djokovic give away his first set in this tournament losing by a score of 6-4. This certainly put the 24-time grand slam champion under pressure. However, Djoko still came back in the match with a brutal 6-0 victory in the second set to keep his hopes alive. The hopes were buried to the ground as Machac made a comeback in the final set beating Djokovic by winning 6 games to 1. This was another heartbreaking loss for Djokovic who once again failed to get to a final of a tournament.

This is not a happy moment for the Djokovic fans who wanted to see him win this tournament. While this was one of the biggest victories for Machac, This still leaves Djokovic without a title going into the French Open to defend his title. We can say this has been one of his worst seasons so far where he has not managed to win a title. We hope this poor form does not affect his title defence going forward.,
