The world No. 2 Jannik Sinner is set to face the home favourite Corentin Moutet in the fourth round of the French Open 2024, slated to take place on June 2.
Notably, Sinner advanced to the third round by eliminating Richard Gasquet and Christopher Eubanks in the first and second rounds, respectively. He was able to take on Pavel Kotov in the third round. The two players recently met at the Mutua Madrid Open 2024, where the Italian emerged victorious in straight sets.
However, Kotov performed a little better, but not enough to alter the outcome. Sinner won 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 with the help of a one-service break in each set.
On the other hand, Moutet defeated 18th seed Nicolas Jarry in four sets during the opening round, and he then defeated Alexander Shevchenko in four sets during the second round. The third-round encounter pitted him against Sebastian Ofner, who had won both of his previous matches in five sets.
