Tennis star Elena Rybakina defeated Greet Minnen 6-2, 6-3 during the French Open 2024. The star player aims to win her second Grand Slam of her career, having won Wimbledon back in 2022. Speaking about the game, the great player blasted to a 6-2 win in the first quarter while coming back from 40-0 in the final game as Greet's great start took the game away.

However, with a 4-0 lead in the second game, Rybakina's rival faltered and held the serve to break her dominance and win the match. Rybakina won the next back-and-forth game and moved to match point on her serve, but Minnen denied her to make it 5-2.

In addition, this was one of three times she broke the former Wimbledon champion, finding another boost from being close to defeat. Meanwhile, Rybakina turned on the afterburners again, digging out two huge first serves and advancing to match point again. She squandered the initial chance to win, but the victory came moments later.

Meanwhile, Rybakina was thrilled after defeating Minnen. She was ecstatic to mark its magnificent comeback after missing the last edition.

"I'm playing really well now. Really happy. Last year I missed this tournament and it was really hard. The ball is a little bit heavier [on the slightly wet court], but that's tennis, you need to adjust to the rainy weather," said Elena Rybakina after the win.

Meanwhile, Elena Rybakina had earlier missed the Italian Open 2024 owing to some of the grave injuries that ruled her out of the game. In addition, the 24-year-old star has made it to five finals total while winning Brisbane International, Abu Dhabi Open and Stuggart Open. She is now set to face Kerber or Arantxa Rus in the next round.
