Conor Niland gives his thoughts on the big three

There are plenty of people who have given their opinions on the big three and we have got another individual who has given his thoughts on the rivalry who is none other than Ireland's Davis Cup captain Conor Niland. Niland has given his opinion on the rivalry and makes an interesting assesment on why Novak Djokovic holds an edge over the other two legends saying " I would have liked to have seen Nadal speak out a little bit more for some of the guys ranked between 100 and 300 players, Sometimes I felt with Rafa that if you were not at the top of the game he wasn’t interested. By contrast, Djokovic has spoken up for players who are struggling to make their way on the tour financially, but Federer and Nadal haven’t really done that." According to Niland that is where Djokovic holds an edge over the others.

This is a very unique assesment by Niland who was also playing in the era where the two were the most dominant players in the setup. However, we have to agree with the fact that it was Djokovic who has been promoting players lower down the rankings and deserves some credit for it as well.
