In the same vein, Twitter owner and billionaire Elon Musk took to social media to show support for Novak Djokovic, who walked off the court at the Rod Laver Arena after skipping his fourth-round match interview with Jim Courier on January 19 in Melbourne. This move was in response to a video of the broadcaster Tony Jones appearing to mock a group of Serbian fans who were holding their flags to showcase their support for Novak Djokovic.

TV host Tony Jones has further asked them to chant the Serbian ace's name during the news read and then seemed to join in, but instead, he has insulted Djokovic by calling him overrated. Following the same, tennis fans and fraternity heard him loud and clear, and later so did the 37-year-old legend as he slipped off the round of social media.

Djokovic strongly took down Jiri Lehecka in the straight sets win in the pre-quarters and made it to the last eight round of the 2025 Australian Open. When Jim Courier approached him for the on-court interview, the former world number one took the microphone to thank the crowd for their support before leaving the Rod Laver Arena.

Notably, this incident earlier met with big confusion as fans on the court responded with boos. However, Djokovic earned strong support online as Elon Musk shared the Serbian's video message to his more than 214 million X followers and posted a heartwarming message.

“It’s way better just to talk to the public directly than go through the negativity filter of legacy media," Elon Musk wrote on X.
