The Roland Garros qualifiers have begun and it is the chance for most of the players to make it to the main draw of the tournament. These matches generally consists of lower ranked players who are playing for a chance in the Clay season finale, however there are always some players who feature in these matches due to falling of the rankings.

One of these iconic players is former top 10 ranked tennis superstar and 2020 US Open winner Dominic Thiem. Apart from this Thiem has also featured in two French Open finals as well. Due to injuries and missing out on tournaments Thiem is not featuring among the top players anymore, and this is officially his last French Open tournament before his retirement. This is also his chance to give one more iconic performance as well.

Thiem to play Viratnen

Thiem managed to get through the first round of qualifying after beating Franco Agmenone in an intense battle. This might have not been one of his peak performances, but we can atleast say that the Austrian has got the job done and has kept his chances alive. Thiem will now be playing a much younger and fresh player in Otto Viratnen in his next qualifier game. Though he is still against a lower seeded player, Thiem has not been at his best right now, which could make this a tougher than we think. It will be interesting to see how Thiem will approach in this game.

This is a game that could make it or break it for Dominic Thiem as this is the last Clay tournament of his career. It has been a career that we expected more from and we hope we get one final Thiem performance that could surprise us once again. He is just a win away from making it to the Main draw and we hope he makes it and shows everyone why he was one of the big names early into his career.
