There have been many players who became top contenders in the game of tennis and went on to have great careers in the sports that have established them as one of the greatest sportsmen in the world. But for players like Dominic Thiem, it has not gone to those great heights at all. However, he is still one of the few players who played some competitive tennis and got big wins against the top players in the ATP scene which also involves the holy trinity.

If it wasn't a career with some major setbacks and injuries Dominic Thiem was set to be one of the biggest stars in tennis. The Austrian is now nearing his retirement and last played the qualifiers of the Roland Garros where he faced defeat in the 2nd round. Though this was not the tournament we were expecting from the Former world number 3, we still have to give him credit for giving us some great games throughout his career.

Dominic Thiem played his last game where he suffered a straight loss against a lower-ranked and unseeded player Otto Virtanen. This was the end of the road for the former US Open champion as he went on to give his final farewell to the crowd. Dominic went on to speak about his wonderful memories of the tournament and thanked everyone who supported him in the tournament. He also brought up that he has had a special bond with this tournament as well which got the whole crowd emotional.

Dominic finally ends his final speech in the Roland Garros saying, "I had so many great results, memories, and experiences on these courts. It’s the grand slam with my best results. I enjoyed every single year of it thank you so much for all the memories they will last for a lifetime.” It is clear that the Austrian will miss the game and the crowd and we wish him a great journey ahead after his retirement.
