Roger Federer's long-time agent, Tony Godsick, has recently opened up on tennis sensation Jannik Sinner, particularly in light of the Italian sensation's performance at the recently concluded 2025 Australian Open. After defending his title at the 2025 Australian Open and maintaining a stellar 73-6 record in 2024, the world number one has often been compared to legendary player Roger Federer due to his professional demeanour both on and off the court. He spoke highly about that Jannik Sinner does not engage in "stupid things" off the courts, which he feels is a hallmark of stalwart Federer's character as well.

I don’t know if he can become a legend like Roger or Rafa, but he is on the right path: Godsick

While praising the 2025 Australian Open champion, Godsick highlighted that though Jannik Sinner is on the right path as things currently stand, he cannot be considered a replacement for Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal as of now. He further added that while the Italian star is loved by tennis fans and has achieved significant success, the legacy of the Big Three remains unparalleled.

Tony Godsick feels that the world number one's approach and playing style will face competition from other players with the likes of Carlos Alcaraz and emerging players with the likes of Joao Fonseca and Alex Michelson.

“I don’t know if he can become a legend like Roger or Rafa, but he is on the right path; he is serious, very professional, he behaves well on the court and does not do stupid things off it; in this he reminds me of Roger. For now they are the best, but soon they will have good competition. Tennis always produces champions and today it is in excellent health. And the Italian one is in splendid shape," Tony Godsick said.
