Tennis star Carlos Alcaraz won in straight sets on June 18 and advanced to the Queen's Club title's second round as the Spaniard defeated Argentine Francisco Cerundolo. The 21-year-old Tennis sensation had won the French Open earlier this month after outclassing Alexander Zverev. On the other hand, five-time champion Andy Murray beat Alexei Popyrin in three sets to go to the round of sixteen. Later, the 21-year-old is now set to face Jack Draper in the next round of the ongoing marquee event.

However, the star player later got through the first set, winning it 6-1 in record time and winning 16 of the 20 points on his own serve. He showed no signs of rustiness in the game and clinched the straight-set win. Following his first set, he then had a strong comeback at the start of the second half, when Cerundolo broke his opponent to take an early 2-0 lead.

The first match in every tournament is never easy: Carlos Alcaraz

Speaking about the game here, it was expected that Alcaraz would take control after his comeback, but he had three set points in the following game, which added to the excitement. Cerundolo, who is still having trouble finding his range on key points, managed to save both, but eventually, the Spaniard broke for a 6-5 lead after holding for 5-5. However, later he had the opportunity to serve to win the match, and he did it by winning the game through devotion and finishing it with a powerful serve that went wide and wasn't received by his opponent.

"The first match in every tournament is never easy, but even more difficult here on grass. Starting the grass season, you want to have a good result, so you have to deal with those expectations that you put on yourself. But I'm really happy with the match I played. Of course, a really good test, playing against Francisco. [It was] close in the second set. It was good to have those situations, to have to deal with the nerves, serving or returning to stay alive in the second set," Carlos Alcaraz said after winning.

"I'm really happy with everything I've done and hopefully kick on," he added further.
