Tennis sensation Coco Gauff has recently revealed the special nickname her boyfriend uses for her. The American stalwart made these revelations at the Italian Open 2025, where she has already stormed into the third round of the prestigious tournament. After making her way at the ongoing WTA 1000 tournament, the star player took time to visit the iconic Trevi Fountain and revealed some of her nicknames, which her loved ones use for her.

She stated that her parents, family, and friends called her 'Coco' only. However, her uncle calls her 'Cantaloupe', while her coach often calls her 'Co' In moment, she revealed that her boyfriend had given her a very unique and creative name. Gauff's boyfriend uses the term 'Star' for her.

Coco Gauff's stellar Italian Open 2025 start

Meanwhile, Coco Gauff has stormed into the round of 32 in the Italian Open 2025. She has received a first-round bye in the tournament. Thereafter, the 22-year-old tennis star defeated qualifier Victoria Mboko in the three-set clash.

Gauff lost the opening set of the match against the 18-year-old Canadian star, but she staged an epic comeback to win this game with a scoreline of 3-6, 6-2, 6-1. Meanwhile, she hailed her opponent's game plan in the post-match interview. Coco Gauff talked about how she staged her comeback in the last two sets and how her opponent posed a big threat in this match.

“Obviously, the last two sets were a lot better. It was tough finding, like, my rhythm. I find the conditions are so much slower than in Madrid. I felt it was impossible to hit a winner. Victoria played great tennis. She forced me to play like that. So full credit to her. I was pretty composed because I felt like I was playing the right way in the first, just not necessarily connecting on some shots,” Coco Gauff said.
