Coco Gauff and Tennis stars pay heartfelt tribute to former US President Jimmy Carter

As per recent reports, on December 29th, President Jimmy Carter passed away peacefully at his home in Geogia. This news was broken down by the Carter Center prompting an emotional reaction from the Tennis world. Martina Navratilova and Coco Gauff took to their social media accounts to pay tribute to the former President of the United States of America. Carter was the 39th President of the USA and his tenure was from 1977 to 1981.  

Carter turned hundred in October, 2024 embarking on the milestone as the longest-living President in the history of USA. In the statement released by the Center, it was mentioned that he was ‘surrounded by his family,’ during his final moments.

Tennis World reacts to Jimmy Carter's demise 

Coco Gauff took to her Instagram account to share her experience of meeting the US President while she was a kid and she was on a road trip with her family. She spoke about the heartwarming encounter, where her father walked out of the washroom in Mc Donald’s with Jimmy Carter, not realizing that the armed guards were the agents of Secret Services. Gauff remembers how kind Carter was to her and her family, making the meeting as one of the most memorable experiences of her life.  

Following Gauff, other Tennis stars like Martina Navratilova also paid their respects, “RIP Mr. President – a life amazingly lived...” Billie Jean King also paid her tribute to the former US President saying, Carter was “a champion of peace and democracy.” She highlighted his commendable accomplishments and the love he earned from the American people.   To this, Boris Becker responded by saying, “Word BJK.”
