The Monte Carlo Masters is finally over and we have witnessed a great tournament filled with a lot of great games and surprises. We have seen some amazing talent and some surprising exits. This tournament has shown us tennis in the most dramatic fashions. Even though we have missed some big players as well, we have got to witness some great players in the clay season.

The winner of the tournament was none other than the Greek superstar Stefanos Tsitsipas who went on to win his third Monte Carlo championship. This was the tournament Tstsipas needed and he showed once again why he is one of the best upcoming talents in Tennis. This has also helped him rise up the rankings as well. There has been a long history in this ATP tournament and now is the time to look at who are the players who have ruled the game for the last 10 years.

Who have been the leading players in the last 10 years?

The last 10 years of this tournament have been a story to tell to every tennis fan. After all, this is one of the iconic ATP clay tournaments which features some of the top players. The winner of the 2014 season was Stan Wawrinka who was at the peak of his career during the season. Wawrinka went on to beat his own countryman and Swiss legend Roger Federer in the finals. The 2015 season saw Novak Djokovic take his Monte Carlo crown back after beating Tomas Berdych in a thrilling game. The next three years we saw the King of Clay Rafael Nadal start another winning streak and win his 12th title in 2018. 

The 2019 season saw us get a new winner in Fabio Fognini who surprised everyone after beating Nadal in the semi-finals and also went on to lift his maiden Monte Carlo title. The 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in unfortunate circumstances. However, in 2021 Monte Carlo was back in action and this time we saw another emerging talent in Tsitsipas who won the back-to-back seasons beating Andre Rublev in 2021 and Davidovich Fokina in 2022. It was then Andrey Rublev who won his first title and came back after losing in 2021 beating Holger Rune in the final. Overall it has been 10 impressive years of tennis that we witnessed.
