Aryna Sabalenka is all set to play in the Wuhan Open tennis tournament. She arrived in China at the end of September, played in the China Open, and lost in the Quarterfinals. Her 15-match winning streak was broken in the Beijing Open.

She lost to her nightmare opponent Muchova for the third time in 4 matches and was out of the tournament. Now she is playing in the Wuhan Open after 5 long years as the matches didn't happen after 2019. Sabalenka was the last tournament winner in 2019 and after that Covid hit the city and the rest of the world came to a halt. After long years, she is playing in the Wuhan Open as the defending champion and she is ready to breathe fire in the court.

But before the tournament starts she is enjoying the city by herself. She was seen at the Wuhan player's party where she was wearing a tailor-made dress expressing her fashion sense. This year has been pretty good for Sabalenka as she won both the Australian Open and the US Open. But she is yet to become world number 1. So her aim is to become the world number 1 this year and the Wuhan Open will help her achieve this feat.

Aryna already won the tournament in 2018 and 2019. If she wins this year she will get a hatrick of wins and will be the first to win the Wuhan Tournament thrice. Talking about becoming world number 1 Sabalenka said, “Of course, this is something I really want to do (become number one), it is one of my goals to win the Australian and US Open this year."

She added, "So I prefer to focus on myself and when I'm on the court, I just try to bring my best tennis and fight for every point. If ill am able to bring my best tennis I know that I can become world number one.” Sabelenka has now got three grand slam wins she is just behind world number 1 Iga Swiatek in the WTA rankings. The year-end tournament at Riyadh next month is going to be a big battle for the world number 1 spot.
