Tennis legend Novak Djokovic is set to play more tournaments in 2025 as the 37-year-old star looks to mark a turnaround to his best, having failed to win any Grand Slam in the 2024 year. However, he won the gold medal after defeating Carlos Alcaraz in the final thriller of the Paris Olympics 2024. The Serbian will be keen to add to the tally as early as possible, with the 37-year-old player aiming to take a big step towards improving by hiring Andy Murray as his new head coach.
However, Tennis star Murray won't be coaching the 37-year-old cricketer at the Brisbane International, but this pair is expected to work together at the Australian Open. It is a matchup that has caused plenty of excitement in the tennis world, both for the opponents and the fans.
In the same vein, sharing his take is Murray's former coach, Brad Gilbert, opens up on an interview with ATP. “I kind of sensed that Novak was going to do something. You didn’t know what he was going to do, but you kind of sensed that he probably needed something, and something to motivate him. And obviously, he goes way back with Andy. The first thing I’ll want to do when I’m in Australia is just go watch Murray and Novak practice,” Brad Gilbert said.

It is interesting to note the intriguing decision from Novak Djokovic to hire Murray, with the pair having been rivals on the court for several years. However, their plethora of meetings means the players would know each other inside out.
“It will be interesting—do they practice together? Is he practicing with a partner? And [I want to see] if I notice anything different early in the first round. As a coach myself and a former player, I’m kind of fascinated to see if there is something different right away," he added further.
