There was no doubt a big cheer as this was possibly going to be the last and final appearance of Nadal on the court. Though we wanted a different result we unforetunately had to face disappointment. Although we saw glimpses of a vintage Nadal in the second set, in the end it was the Van de Zandschulp who got the better of the Spanish legend as he gets the first points for Netherlands in the match as well. This was also the last time we were going to see the 22-time Grand Slam winner on the court as well.

Though this was not the way we wanted Nadal to end his career, we still have to respect him for giving it his all and entertaining the fans for a long time. It has been a great career for him and it will still be a privillege for him to play his last and final game in front of his home crowd who backed him throughout the match.
