Unseeded Alex Michelsen defeated Karen Khachanov 6-3, 7-6 (5), 6-2 in the third round of the 2025 Australian Open at the John Cain Arena of Melbourne Park on January 18 and made it to the next round of the showpiece event. The 20-year-old tennis player had a stunning start to the game, winning the first set comfortably.
However, Khachanov staged his comeback in the second set, but the American sensation maintained his resilience to win the second set as well. He continued his beast form heading to the third set and ensuring his straight-sets win.

Despite this thrilling win, the 20-year-old made the bold headlines when he defeated legendary player Stefanos Tsitsipas. It's worth mentioning that Stefanos Tsitsipas suffered a shocking early exit from the showpiece event after suffering defeat by 20-year-old Michelsen in the first round.
