Tennis star Nicolas Jarry has recently spoken about the unfair treatment he faced in handling his doping case as compared to world number one Jannik Sinner. The Chilean-born athlete was tested positive for the two banned substances—SARM LGD-4033 and stanozolol—back in November 2019, while the Italian star was tested positive for clostebol in March 2024 during the Indian Wells 1000 Masters.

Despite Jarry and Sinner are being found to bear no significant fault or negligence for their doping violations, the 29-year-old tennis star player was handed an 11-month ban from all the ATP tours while Sinner faced no consequences. In one of his recent interviews, the Chilean discussed his doping scandal and expressed that he indeed felt the way given his lengthy suspension while Sinner faced no punishment at all.

Nicolas Jarry handed unfair treatment in doping scandal?

“One hundred percent. Unfortunately, I still feel it, I try to work on it, to talk about it, to not let it affect me, but it is something I still can't close. No. I don't think they're tarnishing him, but I would have liked the same support he had when it happened to me. That's something that affects me personally. You come here wanting to do things well, to win matches, and to get the most difficult one is not ideal, but then my mentality quickly changed to start accepting the situation and motivating myself that it will be a great match," Jarry said [translated from Spanish].
