Tennis star Carlos Alcaraz won the second round of the 2025 Australian Open and knocked out Yoshihito Nishioka by 6-0, 6-1, and 6-4 in the men's singles event on January 15. The Spaniard showcased his beast form in the first set of the game and kept the dominance heading to the second and third sets of the game to make it to the next round.

The 21-year-old tennis star is one of the strong contenders to win the title. A victory here will complete his Grand Slam titles journey, as he is yet to win the Melbourne title.

The young sensational tennis star had a stellar 2024 year, having won two Grand Slam titles, the French Open 2024 and Wimbledon, before winning a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He will be looking to continue his stellar form heading to the next round of the Australian Open. The Spaniard earlier defeated Alexander Shevchenko in the first round of the showpiece event.

In the parallel vein, Carlos Alcaraz accepted that he spent very little time on the courts and easily registered a win in the first and second rounds of the game. The star player aims to remain focused heading into the third round.

“Looks like the less time you spend on court in slams, it’s gonna be better. Especially physically. I’m feeling great, I guess. Trying to be focused and spend as little time as I can," Carlos Alcaraz said after beating Nishioka at the Australian Open.
