Tennis star Carlos Alcaraz thwarted Nuno Borges in the third round of the Australian Open 2025 at the Rod Laver Arena at the Melbourne Park on January 17 and successfully made it to the fourth round of the first Grand Slam of the Year.

The young tennis sensation had the great start of the game and maintained dominance, which allowed him to win the first and second sets of the game. However, Borges staged his terrific comeback and denied his straight sets win and won the fourth set. However, the former world number one showcased his best form and toppled his opponent out of the marquee event.

The 21-year-old tennis star is one of the strong contenders to win the title here at Melbourne Park and is set to pose a big threat to stalwarts like Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic in the next rounds of the game. A victory here will complete his Grand Slam titles journey, as he is yet to win the Melbourne title.

The young sensational tennis star had a stellar 2024 year, having won two Grand Slam titles, the French Open 2024 and Wimbledon, before winning a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Spaniard will be looking to continue his stellar form heading to the next round of the Australian Open 2025.
