Tennis legend Andy Roddick feels there is a full possibility of Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic facing each other in the first round of the French Open 2024. Notably, the marquee event is slated to commence on May 20 at Stade Roland Garros in Paris. However, none of the players except Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have indeed secured the title since 2016.

Notably, the two legends have already started their campaign, as Novak ended his stint as the semi-finalist at the Monte Carlo Masters, while Rafael Nadal recently played two matches at the Barcelona Open 2024. However, Andy Roddick feels that both tennis players should be injury-free so that they can at least enjoy their game time on the court and keep the fans engaged.

Meanwhile, the legendary player feels that Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal can face each other in the first round of the French Open in 2024. In addition, Andy Roddick further tells the 24-time Grand Slam champion that he does not want to face Rafael Nadal in the first round. Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have faced each other around 10 times from 2006 to 2022. However, both legends were too dominant against each other.

Any injury from here on out could be the last injury: Andy Roddick

"Any injury from here on out could be the last injury. I still feel if he gets matches in and if he gets a clean bill of health for two or three events going into Roland Garros, certainly one of the favourites,"  the American said.

"Also, something that’s not talked about enough right now, he goes in unseeded… we could potentially have a Rafa-Novak first round [at French Open]. I could tell you if I was one of the top seeds, who I would not wanna play first round, if he’s just floating in the draw, is a guy who’s won that event 14 times," he added further.
