The Monte Carlo Masters is about to finish on the 14th of April and there is another tournament that will take place after the completion. This time the clay season will make its way into Spain at the upcoming Barcelona Open. This is another iconic tournament featuring some talented players in the pecking order. This has been another ATP tournament giving us some of the iconic matches in the ATP tour.
The tournament will take place on the 15th of April and will be a chance for some players to come back this clay season. Last season's winner was Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz who won his second consecutive title after beating Stefanos Tsitsipas. This will be an opportunity for some new talents, to announce themselves in the tournament. The qualifiers are already taking place and everyone is eager to hear the announcement of the main draw for the tournament.
The tournament has already shown glimpses of players who might feature in this tournament. There are hopes for Rafael Nadal to feature in the tournament which will be a big hype. El Nino might not be in his prime right now with injuries affecting his game, but the fans still believe that he will make a comeback in this clay season, especially in a tournament where he has had the best record of any player who has played in Barcelona. This will also be a nice homecoming for the 22-time grand slam winner.
Speaking of other comebacks, world number 3 Carlos Alcaraz after withdrawing from the Monte Carlo masters due to an unfortunate injury will also look to make his comeback on clay. There is also a certainty that last season’s runner-up Stefanos Tsitsipas, and upcoming players Alex de Minaur, and Karen Khachanov will also be looking to play in this tournament. We can expect a great tournament which will excite the fans and the tennis world going forward.
