Alex Corretja feels that tennis legend Rafael Nadal does not need to prove anything when he plays in the upcoming French Open 2024, which is set to commence on May 26 in Paris. Notably, Nadal has been the most successful player, having won the title around 14 times in his career. The star defeated Casper Rudd in the final game by 6-3, 6-3, 6-0 during the 2022 French Open.

Meanwhile, the star player had missed the French Open 2023 due to his injuries; however, he is yet again set to feature in the French Open 2024. The Spaniard was last seen during the Rome Masters, where he lost heavily to Hubert Hurkacz in the round of 64 due to some grave injuries.

Meanwhile, Corretja acknowledges that there aren't many high hopes for Rafael Nadal at the French Open in 2024. However, tennis fans "need him" to be fit to compete in the Grand Slam, while he thinks Alcaraz will be well enough to play at Roland-Garros. Meanwhile, Carlos has pulled out of the April Monte Carlo Masters and Barcelona Open.

I hope that he can just go there and just do whatever he can: Alex Corretja

"We are waiting Rafa. Yes. Open arms for him. Everybody is hoping that he's going to be healthy and that we know that he's getting ready. He's been practicing on Chatrier to test himself and I think he needs to let it go, just go for everything he has. I think it's difficult to talk from the outside, but I hope that he can just go there and just do whatever he can," Alex Corretja says.

"I'm not expecting anything, it's just go play and whatever comes is going to be a gift. He doesn't need to prove anything else. Not even to himself, not even to the whole world. So if he is able to be there and play one match, two matches, three matches, every match, every time he jumps on court he will be given the recognition he deserves," he added further.
