There has an increase in emphasis on the need to reduce the schedule of a player.
Some of the players suffered injuries midway during a tournament, marking the end of their 2025 season. Likewise, some players took time away from Tennis to recover from a tiring season to return stronger. Some of the players did not disclose the exact reason behind their decision to call it early, leading to speculations.

Emma Raducanu
Emma Raducanu had her best season since winning the US Open 2021. The British played the most matches in a season (50) in 2025 and had a win-loss record of 28-22. Raducanu broke into the WTA Top 30 rankings for the first time in a long time. At the Shanghai Open 2025, Emma suffered sickness, which led to her pulling our of the Japan Open and the Hong Kong Open.

Jack Draper
Jack Draper suffered an unfortunate arm injury during the US Open 2025. Despite the injury, he claimed a win over Argentina's Gomez in a 4-setter. However, the British star couldn't play his second round match. After achieving a career-high 4th rank in ATP in June 2025, Draper's season came to an end in order to recover from his arm injury.

Elina Svitolina
Elina Svitolina put an end to her 2025 season to heal and recharge herself ahead of the 2026 season. "I'm giving myself the space I need to heal and recharge, instead of forcing it and when I step back on the court, I want to fight with everything I've got and put my best self on the court for the fans, for the game and for myself," Svitolina explained in her social media handle.
Hubert Hurkacz
Hubert Hurkacz suffered an arthroscopic right knee injury in July 2025, which marked the end of his season. "I know that in order to return to tournaments and compete at the highest level, I need to be prepared 110%. That is why the best decision is to start in the next season – fully ready to fight," the Polish star wrote on social media.
Frances Tiafoe
Frances Tiafoe announced a premature end to his 2025 season with a social media post. "I truly appreciate the love..energy…passion and brotherhood. It’s been a great ride and only bigger and better things for all of us ahead. Excited for what’s ahead for me and ready to put the work in. Thanks for all the love and support thru it all. The best is yet to come," Tiafoe wrote on social media.
