Khamzat Chimaev beat Robert Whittaker in the middleweight bout at UFC 308. The co-main event of the card at the Etihad Stadium saw Chimaev once again proving why he is called one of the most exciting talents in UFC. With this win, Chimaev has extended his unbeaten streak 14-0.
Talking about the fight, as soon as the fighters started fighting, Chimaev shooted directly towards Whittaker’s legs and took him down in no time. Maybe the fight was already ended at that point as the former champion had no clue what was happening. Chimaev showed his magnificent ground game.

Whittaker was unable to get back on his feet as Chimaev was continuously trapping him against the cage. The Russian fighter choked him in the very first round as Whittaker was forced to tap. The commentators were also heard saying that Chimaev might have dislocated Whittaker’s jaw with that choke.

During the UFC 308 media day, Chimaev talked about his preparation for the fight against Whittaker. He said, “He knows how to lose, we don’t know, so I’m ready for victory,”. The chechen didn’t let the fight go long as it could’ve been a threat to him if Whittaker would’ve been on his feet for more duration.
