Ilia Topuria beats Max Holloway
Ilia Topuria proved once again why he is one of the best fighters on the UFC roster right now. The UFC featherweight champion knocked out Max Holloway in the championship bout at UFC 308 main event. The clash took place at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi where Topuria shocked the crowd with a magnificent knockout.
Topuria, who knocked Alexander Volkanovski in his last outing, had one thing to prove that it wasn’t a fluke. The Spanish fighter has proved that he is not a one-and-done champion. On the other hand, Holloway, who has been in the game for a long time, continued to prove his skills and determination, however, it was El Matador’s night as he successfully retained his title.

Topuria to fight Volkanovski next
Topuria seemed active throughout the fight as he was constantly hitting low-leg kicks and furious hooks as well. On the other Holloway, in his casual style, was producing effective jabs and few body shots as well. Both fighters’ cardio is great and gasing out wasn’t a problem for both.

However, Topuria’s right hook to Holloway during the 3rd round proved to be the decider as the Hawaiian wobbled after taking that shot to his face. As the commentators said it is not often when we see Holloway getting troubled or wobbling after getting hit. However, Topuria’s brutal power was enough to take Holloway down as he finished the match with a magnificent left hook with some hammer shots.
After the fight, Topuria was asked who would he like to fight next. The Spanish fighter chose Alexander Volkanovski and said that he had defended his title seven times so he deserved the rematch. It'd be interesting to see if Topuria will retain his title or if Volkanovski will become the featherweight champion again.
